Sound Heirloom Process

A Sound Heirloom is designed to be simple, intentional, and deeply personal. From preparation to the final recording, each step ensures your story, reflections, or message are captured with clarity and care.

1. Preparation Call

Before recording, we begin with a short preparation call to set the intention for your session. During this conversation we’ll discuss what you want to express, the themes or memories you’d like to capture, and how you’d like the final portrait to feel. This step helps ensure the recording session is focused and meaningful.

2. Focused Recording Session

Next comes the guided recording session. In a calm, supportive environment, you’ll speak naturally about your chosen topic while being gently guided to stay aligned with your intention. The session duration will depend on the package you choose.

This session may occur at our studio in Dover, NH or through a remote session from the comfort of your home (or location of your choosing). For remote sessions, we’ll help you get setup in a way that enables quality audio.

3. Professional Editing

After the session, the raw recording is carefully edited and refined. Background noise is removed, pacing is improved, filler words (um’s and ‘ah’s when lacking value) — plus anything you’d like removed — is cut, and the audio is balanced so that your voice sounds clear, warm, and true to you while preserving the authenticity of the moment.

4. One Polished Sound Heirloom

The final result is a beautifully polished recording—a distilled audio portrait that captures the essence of what you wanted to share. It’s designed to be something you can revisit, share with loved ones, or preserve as a meaningful personal artifact.
